Overview of Hostel
Talkeetna Hostel International is a small and cozy house, with three rooms, a kitchen, three bathrooms, and a big, beautiful back porch. The yard is stocked with goodies like a campfire, grill, and hammock.
The historic village of Talkeetna is nestled at the base of North America's tallest peak
Talkeetna may seem like a relatively remote town, but getting here is easy. We're a stop on the Hurricane Turn and Denali Star trains along the Alaska Railroad, and located at the end of the Talkeetna Spur Road off Highway 3. If you're driving from Anchorage, take AK-1 North towards Palmer, and then merge onto AK-3 North. Follow signs towards Fairbanks. At mile 98.7, take a right on the Talkeetna Spur Road and follow it 14 miles. Take a right on 2nd street to cross the railroad tracks, and then take a left on I Street. You'll see us block and a half down on the right. Shuttling is easy as well, with several companies offering service to and from Anchorage..
The Talkeetna Hostel International is two blocks from the Talkeetna Airport, so it's a perfect jumping-off point for climbers flying into the stunning Alaska Range, or for travellers looking for flightseeing opportunities. We're tucked away on I street, in a relatively quiet and primarily residential neighborhood.
